Converters/Power Supply units are designed to convert 120 volts AC (household electrical energy) into nominal 12 volt DC (automotive electrical energy).

A converter/power supply is used to run the pumps, motors, fans and lights in recreation vehicles. If working properly a converter/power supply will protect against low line voltage and spikes coming from the AC power source or from improperly adjusted generators.
